Disney vs Google: Fee dispute knocks ESPN and ABC off YouTube TV

YouTube TV users in the U.S. lost access to all Disney-owned channels, including ESPN and ABC, after the companies failed to renew their deal. Disney accused Google of exploiting its “market dominance” to avoid paying standard rates.

In response, YouTube TV said Disney’s “costly terms” would hurt customers by increasing prices. Around 10 million subscribers are impacted, and YouTube TV offered a $20 refund if the issue isn’t resolved soon.

Negotiations are ongoing, echoing earlier clashes YouTube had with NBCUniversal and Fox this year.
